“Ordinary festivals try to give you the entertainment you want...but the Flat Lake gives you something you didn't know you wanted"

Nobby Stiles - Currin GFC

A righteous weekend jive for Artyheads, Moochers, B-Girls, Gassers, Bandrats, Grifters, Shifters, Snowbirds, Hepcats, Heels, Groghounds.... and long gone Daddies.

HILTON PARK is a sensationally beautiful country woodland estate in County Monaghan where, often flying by the seat of our pants, we somehow manage to put on an unforgetable festival event. Across the board, by and large, at the end of the day, and when all is said 'n done The Flat Lake exceeds our humble expectations - and probably the expectations of many who dodn't have any expectations in the first place. So, those who missed the last two years, get a ticket and come - and those who came, please come again.

The Flat Lake Literary & Arts Festival is where 'High Art' meets 'Popular Culture' and says... "have you seen Brendan Bowyer's King Lear in the Butty Barn?.. it's seminal" - It's where Seamus Heaney will reign supreme - Where Radio Butty will take you back to the smell of mammy's biscakes- Where tractors & paintings will be sold in the same lot - Where kids can paint themselves green - Where a pint won't cost an arm and a leg - Where a Male Voice Choir from Wales will reduce you to tears on the lawn - Where a rusty old hay shed will become a theatre of beams - where a Hirst Spin goes for less than a  crate of  whiskey... and where Moloney gets the best bed in the Big House!
