Participation

Film-maker, Kevin Allen – and writer, Pat McCabe - will supervise the overall visual and literary components of the project, attaching whatever artistic mechanisms develop though the workshop process over the period of The Flat Lake Arts Festival. The idea is that the overall project gathers momentum with the influence of artists actually attending the festival in 2007. It is thus proposed that the overall concept be locked down to a more cogent, definitive  conclusion in 2008 by virtue of the artists who will get involved this year.  If a writer, musician, artist, film-maker connect themselves, by whatever means, to the project during this years workshop period, they will be invited via a selection process to join it’s conclusion next year, by which time a more definitive finale will have had time to evolve over the intervening months.

For example – should a Poet such as Dermot Healy or Hugo Hamilton – or a composer such as John O’Connor - or even an artist who just happens to be attending the festival this year, express an interest in joining the project – then we will consider all the possibilities of expanding the project to accommodate their input for next years presentation.
